La Catrina in Hollister

I was expecting more from this place. we tried the cochinita pibil plate, the pibil torta and the tacos norteños. The food has better presentation than most restaurants, but taste was just ok. Chips were good.

Food was very, very good. You can tell it's homemade. Salsa and chips were fresh and very tasty. Plates of enchiladas were filled to the beans and rice came on a separate plate. Good prices, not inexpensive but an outstanding value for quality and quantity served. Will be back and will recommend - without the least reservation - to friends and family.

Good food, great drinks, nice friendly people.

This is an excellent place for a date or for the family.

Outdoor dining is nice, food is good, just a little pricey

The food was good but we were seated in the very back of the place and it smelled like a dirty bathroom because thats what we were down the hall from.They also took a while coming to our table for drinks that was unfortunate for them mostly as we were there celebrating a birthday and would have spent much more money if it hadn't been such a hassle for a drink.

It was bad service, we were seated outside because of Covid-19, and we chose too we ordered and 45 min later didn't get our order, 2 tables ordered after us and they got their food. We told the waitress we were leaving because we were not served and all she could say was "I know." What was that no apology either

Great atmosphere, fabulous food and friendly staff

Great restaurant the enchilada Verde were amazing!! We sat outside in the middle of the street which was very different but great service and great food. Margaritas were amazing also.

My fiancé and I absolutely love this place. It is considered our spot. The only Mexican restaurant we will eat at in Hollister. Had an amazing experience for Valentine’s Day there as well. I reserved us our usual table. Service is always perfect. The food always delicious. We have taken her family there when they come to visit and they all love it as well. We have never been disappointed even when they are busy we go to the bar and grab an amazing Cadillac margarita with Tajin rim. I’m still trying to figure out how to make it at home for her.We will continue to go here once a week like we have been for the last year.Thank u For providing Hollister with an amazing choice to eat without having to leave town.I also Recommend asking them to heat up your rice pudding for dessert. It’s amazing

Was okay but we just had apptiseer, Are friend let me taste what he was eating and it was very good The place has a good atmosphere.

It was tasty, sevice was good, chicken mole was not what my wife expected, but still wasn't to bad .

First time i ate there and the food really good and the service really good i like it very much

Very busy but they kept a great pace. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were very kind and friendly, never had to wait too long for drinks

Slow service, I orderd a shrimp fajita after a while was brought just the plate of shrimp and vegetables. I had to ask multiple times for the rest of the order. The food had no flavor only thing there good was the salsa.

Not that great. They sat us next to the bathroom, we asked to move. They sd no. Most of our food was luke warm, not even hot. Had 3 different servers and everyone was confused on our orders.

This place does not care about customer service. We came in as a family of 7 they wanted to split us to two different parts of the restaurant even though there were plenty of tables that could have been moved together we even offered to slide two tables together ourselves. We walked out went down the street to LOS CUATES SUPERMERCADO and had the greatest mexican food ever. La Catrina because you're rude you missed out on over a $150Tab.

Spent $70 on food for two people to go. Got home and one meal was missing. It’s like going through the drive through at a bad McDonalds again. Why can’t they do anything right. They don’t care. I’m done supporting this business.

Clean place and cool decorations, food was good and the prices are reasonable. I think this is a good spot for groups to get some drinks & food.

My parents love spending time here as a family or for just them two. The food is delicious and the service is always great. We love when the guy comes to sing to the restaurant as well. Great music and good vibes.

Exquisite Yucatan-style Pibil pork tacos. Fantastic salsa (some background smoky flavor), good chips. Heck even the kid's bean burrito was delicious. Very attentive service. Will definitely go out of our way to return.

Great food and atmosphere. Traditional Mexican food with a modern take. I always enjoy coming here. The service is good too with attentive staff and food wait times are reasonable. Usually fairly quick service.The Cochinita Pibil is top notch and my favorite.

Great spot for some drinks and delicious food/chips and salsa. We frequent this place, and it's always good. Excellent service too, the servers are great.

Their burritos are amazing. Fresh ingredients. Fresh salsa and awesome guacamole.

Amazing enchiladas verdes and customer service, the only bad thing i can say is that they should put more flavor in the salsa, meat and seafood.

Waaaay over priced. The food was sub par. My friend ordered the salmon tacos and the fish was dry. The chili's and onions on top were raw. I had Chile rellenos. It was nothing special for $17

Food quality has gone up exponentially from a couple years ago. Great service as well left nothing to be desired.

Today the service was excellent! The owner's daughter Paulina kept checking in on me which was a refreshing and much appreciated change. The bus girls especially Alexandra were extremely attentive checking every while to see if I needed anything. Their service is what made it a pleasant experience. Thank you!!!

Food and service was excellent.

The food was good. The atmosphere is always good. Could have done without the "whisper" waitress. But a considerably less busy breakfast option than other options in town. With reasonable prices and decent tasting food.

Pretty poor service, they got three orders wrong out of six, and they forgot one of our drinks. On top of that, it's more expensive than it's worth.

Place deserves more reviews and definitely repeat customers! They have one of the best enchilada sauce. Good veggie, non-veg and kids menu options! Shredded chicken enchilada is yummmm and totally recommended! We landed in Hollister to avoid the traffic and so glad we detoured! Nice drink and dessert options! Service is bit slow but very polite. Will visit again and try more delicacies!

Had the Chile Relleno. Very good. Excellent salsa. Rice and bean portion could have been better. That was my original post. I am editing it to clarify that the rice and beans where also good. It was just my opinion that the amount of rice and beans was a bit small. I would definitely return again.

Food is excellent! Only downside is the menu choices and they only serve lunch/dinner after 2pm. With how good the business is going they should serve breakfast and lunch/dinner at all times. I can guarantee you it will go even better for them.

Recommended by locals. Didn't disappoint.

Hair in salsa... very disappointed. We found it just before the food came out and left shortly thereafter. We were not charged for the food but were for the margaritas which we found to be mediocre. Manager was helpful but not particularly shocked or apologetic. Nice chips and tasty salsa before the hair. Sorry to leave a review like this but as a family that eat out regularly we have encountered and hope for much better.

Amazing food. If you want mexican food go to La Catrina it is a 5 star restaurant
